Hey everyone! If you know me, you probably know that I'm a pretty big Taylor Swift fan, and so are my dolls. So, I decided to have Tricia recreate different Taylor Swift albums.
So, first up is Taylor's debut album.
Here's what the album cover looks like.
And here's Tricia's version.
Next up is Fearless.
And this is Tricia's version.
Now, for my favorite album.......Speak Now!
And this is Tricia's version of Speak Now.
After Speak Now is Red.
And this is Tricia's version of Red.
Taylor's next album is 1989.
This is Tricia's version of 1989.
Then there's the dark album......Reputation!
Now here is Tricia's version of Reputation.
And now for a bright, happy album.....Lover!
This is Tricia's version of Lover
Next up is folklore [my second favorite album]!
This is Tricia's version.
And thennnnnn there's evermore.
Lastly there's Midnights!
So, let's talk. Which of my pictures is your favorite [I really like how Fearless, folklore and Midnights turned out]? Are you excited for Speak Now [Taylor's Version]?
Hello everyone! I haven't done a photoshoot in FOREVER. A few weeks ago [when it was still sunny. Now all we have is rain], I took Chrissa and Tricia outside to take a few photos of them. I'm not nearly as good at photography as my sister, Hailey, but, hopefully you all still enjoy them.
I almost fell in the water while I was taking this picture, lol. Luckily I didn't drop her or fall.
While American Girl has a wide variety of dolls, the company started with mostly historical characters, which I think is really cool. I love both history and dolls, so this makes AG perfect for me. I love a lot of the historical characters, so I decided to pick my top five and show them to you guys. I'll also be putting their time period next to their names, so that if you're not familiar with American Girl, you can know when they're from.
#5: Maryellen Larkin-1950s
I have loved Ellie ever since I saw her movie. I like her spunky personality and her desire to stay true to herself. Beyond that, Maryellen's story isn't one of my favorites, but I love her doll. I'm mildly obsessed with the 1950's, and I especially love 50's fashion, so I love all of her outfits and most of her collection-----especially her Meet outfit and her poodle skirt. I also think she's very pretty-----especially her hair.
#4: Melody Ellison-1960's
I'm equally as obsessed with '60s fashion as I am with '50s fashion, and I Melody's collection has a lot of outfits that I like. I also think that her doll is adorable, and I love her hairstyle. I also really like Melody's story. Her time is during the Civil Rights Movement, and I think her story does a good job of teaching kids about that time period in an age-appropriate way.
#3: Kaya-1760's
I think Kaya is a gorgeous doll. Her outfit is super adorable and I love her hair. I also love the amount of research that AG put into her. For example, her smile doesn't show her teeth because in the Nez Perce tribe, it was considered aggressive to show teeth. Kaya's stories were never my favorite, but I still always liked her character.
#2: Kit Kittredge-1930's
Kit has always been one of my favorites. I think her books are probably my favorite AG books----I love her personality. Her books are set during the Great Depression, which is an interesting [and sad] time period in American history. I also think she's a really cute doll. What I love about her the most is her bob. There aren't very many AG dolls with short hair, so I love that about her. I also love her dog, Grace.
#1: Rebecca Rubin-1910's
I think Rebecca is one of the prettiest dolls that AG has ever made. I love her curls, and her eyes. I also love how so much of her collection is purple, since that's my favorite color. Her outfits are pretty cute, too. I also really love her story. Rebecca has such a fun personality. Her books take place when movies were first being made, which I think is pretty cool. Also, her collection comes with kittens!
So, which AG dolls are your favorite? Out of the ones on my list, which do you like best?
I can't believe it's been three years since I last posted on this blog. It wasn't technically a goodbye post, but I went three years without saying anything else, so that's probably what you guys assumed.
And, for awhile, I was. But I've missed this site, and, more than anything else, I missed dolls. Every time
i read a post on a doll blog I follow, I would get excited to do the same thing. I'd read a Meet the Dolls page and get ridiculously excited about making my own and showing you all how my dolls' personalities have changed and evolved. I'd see beautiful dolls and dream of having them for myself.
Me at all of those dolls I wanted
But I didn't buy any more dolls, nor did I make any posts.
I guess I figured that if you've grown out of something, you're not allowed to change your mind.
I'd grown out of dolls, so that's it.
I ignored the feeling of wanting new dolls, and I collected other things. Funko Pops, action figures, stuffed animals, etc, but none of them gave me the same spark of joy I get when I look at my American Girl dolls.
But not anymore.
Two main things inspired this post.
One was my sister Hailey's blog, where she talks all about dolls. She's made so many great posts that have inspired me so much, and i am always in awe of her talent, intelligence, creativity and kindness. Thank you [and Tony] for being the best sisters a girl could ask for.
The other thing was this video of Melanie Martinez going toy shopping. It's just the cutest thing ever.
Truth betold, I'm not sure what the future of this blog holds. I definitely want to focus less on getting new dolls, and more on enjoying the ones I have and creating new things to do with them. I think a big problem I had before was that I had too many dolls for me to focus on. I'm not saying I'll never get new dolls. I'm just saying that I want to build a collection of dolls that I love and cherish, not just a bunch of them that I feel neutral about. I'm not sure what the focus of this blog will be. Maybe I'll post photoshoots or photostories. Maybe I'll give my thoughts on different doll lines. Maybe I'll find a love for sewing or crafting or customizing dolls and want to share that here. Maybe this is just a fluke and I'll be back to being inactive on this site. I'm not promising a blog schedule, or anything like that. I've grown and changed a lot in the three years since I've stopped doll blogging, and my life has gotten a lot busier.
Basically, what I'm saying is that I'm not going to promise anything., but I'm back, and, if it's okay with you guys, I'd like to stay awhile.
