It was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing just enough to keep it cool. Caprica Six was sitting in the shade, most likely daydreaming.
Meanwhile Kara Thrace had just climbed the unclimbable, er, rail thingy.
’’Hello, Starbuck,’’ Caprica greeted. ‘’Beautiful day, isn’t it?’’
Starbuck simply snorted as a reply. ‘’Hello, friends!’’ Jane said, cheerfully. ‘’Mind if I sit next to you?’’ Without waiting for an answer she pushed Starbuck down and sat between the two of them.
’’I have noticed something very strange,’’ Jane said.
‘’Really?’’ Caprica remarked.
‘’This isn’t like the giraffe and elephant hybrid theory, is it?’’ Starbuck asked.
‘’It could happen!’’ Jane protested. ‘’But, no, it’s really because I’ve noticed that you and Caprica have been avoiding each other. Soooo…….I will now force you to spend time together to get you to bond!’’
‘’How exactly does forcing us to spend time together make us want to spend more time together?’’ Caprica inquired.
‘’Because it just does,’’ Jane said.
Due to Jane’s ‘’command’’ they had switched to a different spot and Starbuck was doing push-ups while Caprica sat there, trying to think of a conversation starter. She wished she’d brought a book along.
‘’So, um, I know a good place to hike to,’’ she said. ‘’Would you like to go there?’’
‘’Sure. I might as well,’’ Starbuck said.
‘’Alright,’’ Caprica said. There was an awkward pause. ‘’Do you want to go there?’’
‘’Yes, I already told you so,’’ Starbuck said.
‘’We should go then,’’ Caprica said.
Starbuck nodded, standing up.
The two of them made their way through the trees.
‘’Aha! This is perfect!’’ said Jane, who was spying on them. ‘’Now, I’ll win that bet with Ziva and Abby after all!’’
‘’Are we almost there?’’ Starbuck asked. ‘’Yes. Just a few more minutes,’’ Caprica said.
‘’Ooh! Maybe this is the secret spot Caprica’s always going off to,’’ Jane said, following them slowly and carefully.
‘’Okay, this is it,’’ Caprica said, perching herself on a rock.
‘’It’s pretty,’’ Starbuck said. ‘’Do you go here a lot?’’ Caprica nodded. ‘’It always feels so calm here. Not like at the house.’’ ‘’Nothing is calm around Audrey,’’ Starbuck replied.
Caprica laughed. ‘’True,’’ she said. ‘’Hey, why have you been avoiding me?’’ Starbuck asked.
‘’Because you hate me,’’ Caprica said, softly.
‘’I don’t hate you,’’ Starbuck said. ‘’Although, you did try to kill me once.’’
‘’That was a different Six,’’ Caprica pointed out. ‘’And you seem to hate all Cylons.’’
‘’Well, I don’t hate you,’’ Starbuck said.
‘’Haha! Yes, yes! They’re getting along!’’ cackled Jane from up in the trees. Before she fell, anyway.
And landed on the ground with a thump.
Starbuck looked at Caprica. ‘’We’re punishing her, right?’’
‘’Absolutely,’’ Caprica agreed.
