Hello everyone! I did a post just like this when I first started blogging, and I wanted to see how my thoughts have changed now that I've gotten older, plus there are several dolls that weren't out yet when I made my first post.
If you're not super familiar with AG dolls, Girl of the Year is basically when they center a story around a modern girl, and sell her only for a year [unless you can find her on ebay]. I like the GOTY line, though I feel like some of their newer ones aren't that original. I definitely prefer the historical line, but this one is good, too. Without further ado, let's get started.
#21: GOTY 2021 Kira Bailey
I just feel like Kira is kind of a bland doll. There's really nothing all that special about her, her outfit, her collection, or even her storyline [Lea from 2016 was all about traveling and wild animals, just like Kira]. She's just never really been a favorite of mine. She's cute, but I think there are better AG dolls out there.
#20: GOTY 2003 Kailey Hopkins
Again, I just feel like Kailey is kind of boring. She has a pretty small collection, and there's not a lot of stuff I like in it, plus the doll herself is cute, but nothing special. I do like her story's focus on environmentalism and saving the tide pools, so she gets points for that.
#19: GOTY 2017 Gabriela McBride
Yet again, I think Gabi is kind of bland. She's pretty, but her story is very boring. She's another dancer, and AG has had so many dancer GOTYs, so I just feel her story could've been more unique. I do like her purple and blue color palette and some of her accessories, though.
#18: GOTY 2015 Grace Thomas
I think Grace is pretty cute, but she just looks a lot like Chrissa, so I feel like her appearance isn't super unique. I do like her focus on food and baking, and some of her collection is really cool, but I don't think her story is one of the most interesting ones. Points for having Olivia Rodrigo in the movie, though.
#17: GOTY 2001 Lindsey Bergman
I think that Lindsey herself is pretty cute------I especially love her hair, and her story was pretty good, but I just hate everything else in her collection. Especially her Meet outfit.

I think that Joss' doll is pretty cute, and I like a few items in her collection [like her Nfinity cheer outfit], but not a whole lot, honestly. Her story also seems kind of bland------there have already been a lot of dolls focused on surfing/the ocean and/or cheer/dance, so she's just okay in my opinion.
#15: GOTY 2007 Nicki Flemming
I think that Nicki is a really cute doll------I especially love her curls, and I like her focus on dogs and animals, in general, but I've never read her books, so I don't know her story, and her collection isn't my favorite. There's nothing wrong with her. She's perfectly fine, just not my favoite.
#14: GOTY 2014 Isabelle Palmer
Isabelle has a lot of items in her collection that I love, and I think she's pretty cute, but, again, she's nor my favorite. I feel like ballet isn't a particularly unique idea for a doll, but, to be fair, she was one of the earlier dancer GOTYs, so it wasn't overused yet.
#13: GOTY 2008 Mia St. Clair
Mia is a cute doll! I like her Meet Outfit, and I think it's pretty cool that she's an ice skater. I like Mia, I just don't love her, and I really don't have all that much to say about her besides that.
#12: GOTY 2006 Jess McConnell
Again, I think Jess is really cute. I love her dress and her braids, especially. I also like that her parents are archaologists--------that's pretty cool. However, I haven't read her books, so I can't really judge her story. and her collection is just okay, in my opinion.
#11: GOTY 2019 Blaire Wilson
I really like Blaire's soft color palette, and I like a lot of her clothes and accessories. Her doll is cute, but not the cutest. I also don't think her story is particularly original [she's focused on cooking and food, just like Grace].
#10: GOTY 2005 Marisol Luna
Marisol was the OG dancer GOTY, and I think she was the best one. I love that she has a cat, I like her pink and purple theme [my two favorite colors!], and I like all of her dance costumes. They all look really cool. Her collection is small, but amazing.
#9: GOTY 2016 Lea Clark
I think that Lea's doll is incredibly pretty, and I love that she got to travel to Brazil. Her collection was cute, but not the best. I did find her books a bit boring, though-----especially when compared to her movie. Lea's super cute-----she's just not my favorite.

I think Corinne is really pretty! I love her partially teal hair, and her sweater looks super comfy! Plus, skiing is a cool new interest for an AG doll, and I like that she has a sister. The only thing that makes me like her less than some of the other dolls is that her whole theme is winter, and I really, really don't like winter.
#7: GOTY 2013 Saige Matthews
Saige is really pretty! I'm a bit of a horse girl myself, so I love that she loves horses. I also think her focus on art is pretty cool, and I remember really liking her books and her movie. Saige gets an A from me!
#6: GOTY 2023 Kavi Sharma
I'm so glad that AG made a theater kid GOTY! That's so cool! I think Kavi is pretty cute------I especially like her shoes, and I like most of her collection. Her dog is also adorable. I haven't read her books, so I don't know much about her story, but she seems cool.
#5: GOTY 2011 Kanani Akina
I think that Kanani is one of AG's cutest dolls! I love her dress and her hair and everything about her! She was one of the first GOTYs with a tropical theme, and I think I liked her books. I love Kanani so much.
#4: GOTY 2010 Lanie Holland
As an outdoorsy nature lover myself, I love Lanie's focus on nature and science. I think her doll is super cute, and I love her dress. I also read both of her books and they were some of my favorites. I think Lanie is super underrated and really, really cool.
#3: GOTY 2012 McKenna Brooks

I think that McKenna is absolutely adorable. I love most of the stuff in her collection-------especially her loft bed and hamster, and I think it's pretty cool that she's a gymnast [I've always loved watching gymnastics, even though I'm way too tall to do it myself, haha]. I really like her books, and I think her movie is one of the best ones.
#2: GOTY 2018 Luciana Vega
I love Luciana! She's super cute, and I love her purple hair and galaxy dress. I also love pretty much all of her collection. I love how so much of it is focused on space and astronomy. If I had more money, I would totally buy some of her stuff for my dolls.
#1: GOTY 2009 Chrissa Maxwell
I don't know why, but I've always loved Chrissa. I think she's one of the cutest AG dolls. The Josefina face mold looks great on her, and I love her hair and her pink dress. I like that she's a swimmer, and that she has llamas for pets, plus I like that she's super into arts and crafts. I also used to LOVE her movie. I watched it all the time.
